LONG
LEAF PINE
by The Krayolas
The newest
release is the complete package. Featuring
the post-modern corrido "Twelve Heads in a Bag"
the group strolls through 15 tunes that take
listeners on a drive on the wild side with "Chola
Song" to the legendary voodoo queen on "Marie
Laveau." A big "add on" to this
release are the soulful sound of the legendary
West Side Horns. Also check out the
Tex-Mex sounds added by Michael Guerra on
accordion and Max Baca on bajo sexto on "Twelve
Heads in a Bag."

BEST RIFFS ONLY
by The Krayolas
From the
liner notes: “Thirty years ago, the
Krayolas walked out of their daddy’s
garage and into the legendary West Side
studio, Zaz, to make their first 45
r.p.m. vinyl record. They were only
teenagers, but soon would make many
more. “Best Riffs Only: The Krayolas
1977-1988” compiles long unavailable,
out-of-print indie vinyl singles and
rarities for the first time.” This
extraordinary collection sums up why the
Krayolas are and continue to own “The
Tex-Mex Beatles” title. And on top of
that, this music will put a smile on
your face.

LA
CONQUISTADORA
by The Krayolas
Talk about a comeback!
When the Krayolas came out with this CD in
2008, they took the rock world by storm
featuring a now legendary showcase at
Austin's South by Southwest Music
Conference. Everyone from rock icons
like Ben Fong-Torres and Dave Marsh to
"kingmaker" Little Stevie Van Zandt who
features it daily on his Underground Rock
Station on Sirius/XM radio. Here
you've got top-notch songwriting with the
jangling guitars and air-tight harmonies
that won the group the "Tex-Mex Beatles"
nickname. And there's a major bonus -
Augie Meyers, of Doug Sahm's original band,
lends his hand on the Vox organ.
